Team Member Spotlight: Jon Kaplan

When Jon started with Tech Logic in 2013, he had just finished his MBA in marketing and started dating Dawn, now his wife. As a Solution Specialist, Jon works with libraries to determine which products most meet their needs.

To help us get to know Jon more, we asked him a few questions:

What excites you most about the library industry?

Growing up, I went to Queens Public Library in New York City and knew I could enjoy myself there. It provided a sense of structure and togetherness. In a chaotic world, youth (and people of all ages) need to know that the library is a safe community that they can belong to. It is much more than a place to read books.

How would you summarize the most powerful ways Tech Logic solutions help the libraries you work with?

Tech Logic solutions are not push-it-off-the-shelf products. We take pride in the value of what we have to offer. Our solutions are designed with libraries in mind. We want to meet the unique needs of each library. Our Automated Material Handling Systems are made in-house for that very reason. Another example is our software. It was created to benefit and nurture the community within each library. I always tell libraries, “Our products are an investment for the future.”

What do you like most about working for Tech Logic?

I have enjoyed this position the most out of all my careers. Some people dread going to work daily, but Tech Logic has been a positive experience for me. It feels like home. Our President, Gary Kirk, wants to know what we think and shows us respect.

Outside of work, what would you like to share about yourself?

When I started with Tech Logic, I was living in Minnesota. Now, Dawn and I live in the Ozarks, specifically Missouri. We enjoy living in the South. It’s an amazing opportunity to appreciate the beauty of nature. Not only can we see the mountains, lake, and woods from our home, but we also love to get out to the park and see the buffalo and elk roaming together.

Jon and Dawn recently opened their home as a charming bed and breakfast called The Fig Tree Cove. They are excited to host a relaxing getaway for their guests.
