baseCAMP, included at no additional cost for Tech Logic customers, is a web-based application that empowers library staff to manage Tech Logic systems and access statistical reports—all from any PC or tablet with access (including remote access) to the library network.
From baseCAMP, team leaders can set visibility and permissions for each library staff member based on user role, library branch, baseCAMP functionality, and more.
baseCAMP unifies Tech Logic solutions into one web-based application. We plan to integrate all of our products and operations into the baseCAMP ecosystem, so please be on the lookout for additional baseCAMP features and integrated products rolling out fast in 2022.
Tech Logic is working to fully integrate our staff workstation management and reporting functions into baseCAMP.
Presently, staff can monitor the online status of selfCIRC PRO units and receive visual alerts if any units are offline. In the future, staff will be able to configure staff stations and access statistical reports for staff station usage and item circulation.
baseCAMP equips staff with powerful tools to manage self-checkout systems from any PC or tablet with access (including remote access) to the library network.
Configuration
Staff can configure any or all self-checkout systems—at the terminal level, or simultaneously for multiple terminals across one, more, or all library branches (assuming the staff member has the appropriate permissions and access).
Monitoring
If a selfCIRC terminal is offline for any reason, the baseCAMP interface will provide a visual alert.
Reporting
Staff can explore pre-configured or custom self-check reports—by date, time, branch, terminal, and more—for key insights into library performance and patron experience. Self-check reports are easily exportable to Excel and PDF files and will use data including, for example, the following:
- Number of patron sessions on specific unit(s) within specific time period(s)
- Number of items checked out on specific unit(s) within specific time period(s)
- Average number of items checked out per patron session
- Number of successful and unsuccessful sessions
- Number of patrons choosing other languages
- Fines & fees/transaction logs
baseCAMP equips staff with powerful tools to manage rfidGATE systems from any PC or tablet with access (including remote access) to the library network.
Configuration
Staff can configure any or all rfidGATE systems—at the terminal level, or simultaneously for multiple terminals across one, more, or all library branches (assuming the staff member has the appropriate permissions and access).
Monitoring
Upon rfidGATE alarm, baseCAMP's monitoring window provides visual and (optional) auditory alerts and, via real-time communication with the ILS via SIP2, displays the ILS data of the item(s) that are triggering the gates.
If a selfCIRC terminal is offline for any reason, the baseCAMP interface will provide a visual alert.
Reporting
For key long-term insights into people counts and item replenishment, users can generate and export pre-configured or custom reports within baseCAMP using data categories including, for example, the following:
- Number of patrons counted over a specific time
- Number of gate alarms over a specific time
- Triggered items and associated ILS data
- Location where each item was triggered
baseCAMP's bulk item check-in and search functionality, batchTRANSIT, can log a group of sorted items under one container’s barcode so that, when that container travels from a central sorter and arrives at its branch destination, the container (and the items) are tracked in a database and branch staff have the option to process all of the items simultaneously with a single scan.
With all of these items tracked in the batchTRANSIT database, staff can easily search for specific containers or items and can also obtain statistics surrounding circulation volume.
baseCAMP equips staff with powerful tools to manage selfCIRC LOCKERS from any PC or tablet with access (including remote access) to the library network.
Configuration
baseCAMP allows staff to configure locker systems (assuming the staff member has the appropriate permissions and access) in conjunction with ILS business rules in order to facilitate a holds pickup workflow that fits the goals and needs of library patrons.
Monitoring
baseCAMP's locker management works closely with the ILS to facilitate a smooth extension of the library's holds pickup operation. For example, baseCAMP shows locker availability and provides various notifications and visual management tools for library staff.
If a selfCIRC LOCKER terminal is offline for any reason, the baseCAMP interface will provide a visual alert.
Reporting
Staff can explore pre-configured or custom reports for key insights into locker performance and patron experience.
