Team Member Spotlight: Tim Granquist

Tim joined Tech Logic in 2016. Before Tech Logic, Tim gained experience in the library industry as the Director of Library Relations for Serials Solutions, which became part of ProQuest in 2004. Serials Solutions was founded to alleviate library patrons’ frustrations with navigating electronic resources, providing libraries with better academic research workflows and management services.

“Tim joined Serials Solutions when it was just an idea,” said Peter McCracken, co-founder of Serials Solutions. “He quickly became a core part of the creation of the company and was soon an equal owner and contributor to Serials Solutions’ success.”

“Without question, Tim valued the input and feedback that customers provided,” Peter said. “Tim listened and brought that information back to the product and technology teams so we could keep improving the services we provided.”

When Tim joined Tech Logic in 2016, he collaborated closely with libraries as a Senior Solutions Specialist. This collaboration continued when he was promoted to Director of Product Management. Highlights from these roles include strengthened relationships across the library industry, streamlined sales demonstration workflows, valuable service on Tech Logic’s executive leadership team, and library-centered product guidance for the launch of major Tech Logic solutions like baseCAMP, batchTRANSIT, and selfCIRC LOCKER.

To help us get to know Tim more, we asked him a few questions:

What got you interested in working in the library industry?

Tim: Prior to my time with Tech Logic, some friends of mine started a company called Serials Solutions—now part of ProQuest—which provided libraries with better management of electronic resources. I was the company’s first employee.

Looking back, I’m so glad I landed in the library industry. To be part of an industry that is mission-critical to democracy is so rewarding.

What are you looking forward to most about your new role?

Tim: I am looking forward to developing Tech Logic’s staff. I want to build on the skillset of our employees, so that they feel empowered in their careers. I want Tech Logic to be known as a highly desirable place to work in the library industry.

With my background in product development, I’m also eager to increase Tech Logic’s capacity to fulfill and support products. Our products allow librarians to return to more essential duties that are focused on working directly with patrons. It’s so important to empower library staff and increase the positive perception of libraries as a place for community.

Would you care to share any fun facts about yourself, inside or outside of work?

Tim: I enjoy doing anything with my family. I especially love salt water or freshwater fishing with my kids.
